Awkward confession: When I first saw your blog in the recommended, I only saw “yell” from “yellow” and immediately assumed your blog bio said “. . . I kind of invented yelling” and thought “me too sis” and followed
I appreciate this lots since I do 5/6 of these. And because of that a lot of people don’t know I’m anxious/have anxiety or therefore how to offer support
Because most parents and all schools don’t teach you how to love yourself, I will.
- when you think bad thoughts, catch yourself. It’s simple and doesn’t work ALL the time, but helps most of the time. Knowing you’re putting yourself down can help you form a habit of stopping yourself from continuing.
- take those bad thoughts and tell someone! Tell them how you feel about yourself if you can and ask them to help you rebuttal them. If you feel like you may be a bother to who you want to speak to (like most of us do feel, unfortunately), writing them down also works. Write them down and then compare your bad thoughts about yourself to how you actually are. For example, if you’re thinking “I’m so STUPID”, look at it from an outside view. Your grades shouldn’t define you, they’re letters based off of stressful work not everyone can balance. “I’m so ugly” can lead to “but I have beautiful eyes and my body is my own. No one ever looks the same. “ practice these things and remember that the horrible things you think about yourself are implanted by the things people tell you.
- self care: this won’t fix everything, but damn does it make you feel good, right? Take an hour to yourself once a week or so if you can. If your schedule is THAT jam packed, take it slow, little by little. It helps to care slowly about yourself.
- FOR PEOPLE WHO SELF HARM: I know it’s a hard habit to break. It’s always so tempting to just hurt yourself. Before you do, review in your head WHY you feel like this, HOW bad you’re feeling, and ALTERNATIVES to self harm. Make a list of those alternatives. Things like music (try to stray away from music that’ll make you sad, even if you’re not really into pop. Try classical!), reading, drawing (doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad, it always feels good to create!), writing, etc.
-FOR THOSE WITH EATING DISORDERS: First off, ANA AND MIA: I personally struggle with these and all or experiences are different, as are they with the other things listed above. It’s important to STRAY from societal views. We all see those skinny bodies we want but refuse to look at our own. Those are retouched images. Many fitness instagrams now are showing things like INSTA versus REALITY. We NEED that stomach tissue. It’s not FAT, it’s not DISGUSTING. It’s human. You’re human and being human is BEAUTIFUL (most of the time). You have a body and you can’t control how you distribute your weight. Healthily, you can obtain a HAPPY body, not a far too skinny body.
- FOR BINGE EATING DISORDERS: it’s hard to restrain yourself and it is a LOT of self discipline. I understand to a certain degree that it’s just so tough to stop once you’ve started. The best way to handle this is to LOG YOUR FOOD. You don’t realize how much you consume (no one does) until it’s on paper in front of you. Slowly decrease what you consume if you can and do things like put the “fattening” foods in a solid colour bin. Out of sight, out of mind. It’s okay to binge at times, but REMEMBER YOUR STRICT LINE of when to stop. Adding exercise Helps as well! Don’t over do ourself but calculate how much you’ve consumed, then try your best to work off what you can, you’ll see a difference. Exercise can minimize your appetite too and boost your health to help you lose when you want.
I know there are many three issues to go over and I will go over them slowly. You are loved. You are cared for. You have me and the others in your life, you just have to reach out to the right people. I love you so much. Your turn to love yourself!
I love them so much because they’re about as sharp as a baseball and their anatomy is ridiculous to the point of them literally being classified as plankton for years because they just sort of get blown around by the ocean and look confused, but because they lay more eggs than ANY OTHER VERTEBRATE IN EXISTENCE, evolution can’t stop them
Why is no big predator coming and gnawing on them?
Their biggest defense is that they’re massive and have super tough skin, but they do get hunted by sharks or sea lions sometimes and they just sort of float there like ‘oh bother’ as it happens
Even funnier, because they eat nothing but jellyfish they’re really low in nutritional value anyway, so they basically survive by being not worth eating because they’re like a big floating rice cracker wrapped in leather.
So basically the only reason natural selection hasn’t taken care if them is because they are the most useless fish
yes, they’ve perfected uselessness to the point of being unstoppable
Reblog if you have an ed and are not underweight to show people that having an ed doesn’t mean you have to be underweight. People with eds can be underweight, normal weight, overweight and obese. And they all suffer the same.
